Information for Current Clinical Students

Obtaining a clinical psychology qualification is both a challenging and rewarding study option. The course is demanding, asking that its students obtain a solid understanding of clinical practice in their coursework, apply these principals in clinical placement settings and demonstrate a capacity to carry out clinical research. This training structure reflects the scientist-practitioner philosophy of this program.

Above all, students training to practice in clinical settings are encourage to adopt and maintain a professional attitude when undertaking all parts of their training program. This includes behaving in accordance with University of Queensland, APS Code of Practice and Ethical Guidelines, and QLD Board of Psychology Guidelines at all times.

The School of Psychology and the University of Queensland offer rich resources for the student studying clinical psychology. Cybrary. Students also have acess to our School of Psychology Clinical Resources Centre, which has a wide variety of assessment materials, books and manuals, and journals relating to clinical psychology and specialist areas like child, ageing and neuropsychology.
