School of Psychology - Community & Clinics - Clinics - Psychology Clinic - ReferralsMembers of the public may self-refer to the UQ Psychology Clinic. Health professionals or organisations providing health care, case management or educational services may also make referrals.
To make referrals to the Clinic, contact the Clinic Secretary on 3365 6451 or complete the referal form [Word Document] provided and forward it to the Centre on the address at the bottom of the form.
Once referred, clients are placed on a waiting list. They are then contacted by phone by either the Clinic Manager or another psychologist, who obtains further information and decides whether the Clinic is the most suitable agency. If the Clinic is suitable, the client remains on the waiting list and is assigned to a psychologist as one becomes available. Arrangements may be offered to clients requiring urgent or more demanding assistance.
Our waiting list varies in length throughout the year and can be anything from one week to three months, depending on the time of year the referral is made.
The waiting list is generally shortest between April and November, and longest between December and February.
